Oleander

Oleander

It is challenging to find time for my own work amid home schooling and working on projects with my children, both pursuits I also deeply enjoy and find fulfilling. In fact, I find the world of my children and their imaginations so engaging that it is all too easy to neglect my own. For me, painting is about the process, that beautiful process, that for a brief period of time, the outside world is quiet and I live in the landscape of my own mind. Painting helps keep me centered. So, to that end, I made the commitment today to paint for one hour and hope to daily, with no end goal in mind, other than to paint. And even on days when the end product is ugly to me, it's the process that holds true beauty.
