I was recently invited to participate in an artist reclamation project, the Landfill Art Project. As part of the project, participating artists are asked to transform an old, used hubcap into a work of art. The works will eventually be organized and published into a book, with a selection of the works also participating in a traveling exhibition.
In my piece, I decided to incorporate the hubcap's design to some extent rather than completely ignore it altogether, but at the same time attempted not to allow it to determine her form entirely.
